The Reading Pagoda, a historic landmark built in 1908, is owned by the City of Reading, Pennsylvania. A symbol of the city for more than a Century, the Pagoda is anchored to the mountainside atop the south end of Mount Penn.
Our inspirational setting and thirty-mile panoramic view is known throughout the world.
Note: The Reading Pagoda building is currently closed to visitors. Look for local listing (Reading Eagle, WFMZ, etc.) regarding the road and parking updates, plus for all trail information.

Sept. 18 - The Baird Ornithological Club will host a Hawk Watch from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. We are hoping to catch the peak of the Broad-winged Hawk migration. We’ll meet on the lawn down the steps at the Pagoda. Bring a chair and stay awhile.
Every first Thursday of each month at 6PM the Foundation for the Reading Pagoda meets via Zoom to discuss strategic plans for the Reading Pagoda. If you have ideas or would like to join the meeting, email info@readingpagoda.com.
Our volunteer-based board made up of community members and leaders. The mission of the Foundation for the Reading Pagoda is to provide oversight for the preservation and maintenance of the Pagoda, a cultural and historical icon and landmark of Berks County.
